Arrival in Gulmohar, New Dehli, India

Cool we're there, and so far with no "liquide-dumping" problem! That's already two good news in one line to tell you how satisfied we are to be here!

We came straight from the airport to Jean-Ga's ( a friend of mine) apartment. Well when i say straight it's of course after the taxi-negociation: the guy actually had no idea where Gulmohar Park is, and didn't mention it before an half-an-hour drive... So we had to stop in a tourist information and then he wanted to charge us four times the price... well he was a snakes, and we were easy-to-swindle tourists... Nevermind, we finnaly got to Gulmohar, which is a very peaceful area south of New Dehli (Gulmohar actually means blazing/flamboyant, like the flowers from the trees in front of the window). And believe me it's enjoyable to be in a quite place! It's so hot and humide outside!!! And i cant even describe the mess it is with the noise and the cars, and the dirt. Using the horn every 10 seconds in part of driving safely, and where we would put 3 cars, they can put 6... and as many rickshaws (those three wheeled cars)! But somehow in all that mess around, walking around is not so stressful: i mean people seam really slow doing whatever they have to do... if they ever have anything to do at all! And also there's a lot of green areas and parks around here, like the Haus Kazh Village where we took the picture above. One funny thing is to see how people sleep anywhere: just where they are when they need to sleep. I was told it's because there's a great matter of respect for everyone's need to sleep! I LIKE! ;o) I think pitw will be an easy coincept to understand for Indians.

Well, that first glance at Indian life was interesting, though short. I'm already looking forward to tomorrow to go get lost in the Old Delhi the whole day!
I think we'll stay here until the end of the week and then we'll go up north to Ladak and Cachemire before it's too cold and before the collar of mountains get stuck because of the snow!
